Staff development services

At Mirrabook we understand the changing face of education and how difficult it is to keep abreast of new technologies to enhance teaching and learning in the classroom, so we do all the leg work for you! We keep informed about current and emerging technology trends in education and explore the evidence base to see what is being employed with success and what is not. We then develop continuing professional development sessions and workshops that can be delivered directly in your organisation or at your away day.

Some of our sessions and workshops are listed below.

Tech dinosaur versus tech hipster

This session begins by looking at the technology trend in education and why it isn't something to be ignored. We then deliver a broad overview of the current and emerging trends and examine some case studies of how these have been employed successfully. This session is a good springboard to get colleagues thinking about technology in an education context.

Your iPad and you: a healthy relationship

This workshop has been delivered successfully as a one-off session or a series of 'coffee club' sessions over a series of weeks. It commences with an introduction to the fundamentals of using an iPad and explores cloud storage and how to download apps. The focus then shifts to specific productivity apps that can be used for note taking, mind mapping and creating a presentation.

Engaging education using Nearpod

This workshop introduces Nearpod, a software that creates interactive learning that can be used on any mobile device, laptop or computer. You will learn what is possible with Nearpod and the fundamentals of learning design. On successful completion of the workshop, you will have developed a Nearpod lesson for use with your students.

iSpring, you spring, we all spring

This workshop introduces iSpring, a software that creates interactive learning for deployment on an organisation's virtual learning environment. You will learn what is possible with iSpring and the fundamentals of learning design. On successful completion of the workshop, you will have developed an interactive resource for use with your students.
